Born on September 7, 1974 by Federico Ramat (deceased) and Josefina Jovinal, I have two brothers and 2 sisters.
I finished my College Seminary degree in the Philippines. After college and second year theology, I decided to leave the seminary to experience teaching in the grade school, high school and in the university. While being a professor at St. Mary’s University, I was at the same time the Dean of Students and Procurator at St. Dominic College Seminary. Then I came to the United States to finish my studies and seminary formation.
I went to St. Patrick’s Seminary and University in Menlo Park, California to finish my theological studies. After which, I had my Pastoral Year and Diaconate at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Oroville.
I was ordained to the Catholic Priesthood by Bishop William Weigand on October 26th, 2007 and immediately assigned as Parochial Vicar at St. Isidore’s Parish in Yuba City.
On February 15th, 2010, I was appointed to assist at St. Vincent Ferrer Parish in Vallejo. Then I was appointed Parochial Vicar at St. Clare Parish, Roseville on January 1st, 2012. I believe St. Clare Parish had prepared me to take this step of pastoral service and responsibility to another parish.
Effective August 1, 2014, Bishop Jaime Soto appointed me Parochial Administrator here at St. Philomene Parish. Being my first Parish, I am very grateful for his trust and confidence. With enthusiasm and zeal, I am glad to come to serve this wonderful parish. This is a beautiful community with rich history and wonderful people journeying together towards the realization of the Kingdom of God.
This is home for me. This is our Church. So, as a communion of brothers and sisters, let us continue to renew our love and commitment to serve one another and to celebrate the tremendous love of God through prayers, sacraments, meditation on the Word of God. -
